Google Tests Google Music

I’ve been reading over at Cnet that Google is testing their new product, Google Music. Apparently employees at the company’s Silicon Valley headquarters have been testing the service internally in preparation for its full release. Hat tip to Ian Cowley for this. Full story here

Google Executive Missing in Egypt

I read in the papers today that concern is mounting for Wael Ghonim, Google’s Marketing chief for the Middle East and North Africa. Mr Ghonim is seen on video being grabbed and taken away by secret police during the demonstrations in Tahrir Square, Cairo. Google issued the following statement: “The safety of our employees is [...]

Google – Eric Schmidt Out – Larry Page In

Didn’t see this one coming – but I’m not surprised. Schmidt was always a cold fish that didn’t fit into Google’s image as far as I’m concerned, although he ran the company competently, he didn’t have the vitality that oozed from the ‘plex. The Google Interface

Never one to complain about Google in the past, I must admit to hating the new Google home page. The beauty of Google was always its simplicity – with the option to search sites from the UK when performing the initial search. Now one has to make a worldwide search just to get the option [...]

Google Quits China

I have nothing but admiration for Google when I read this morning that they have pulled out of China and will be online from Hong Kong. Too many western companies turn a blind eye to China’s human rights record so as not to jeopardise their profits – and that is a disgrace. It is a [...]
